Academic Representation

Academic representation is a partnership between Leicester Students' Union and the departments of the University of Leicester. Together, we aim to ensure that students play an essential role in guaranteeing and driving the quality of the academic experience.

For students to be represented effectively within departments and across the University, we rely on enthusiastic volunteers to stand for election to become Reps at Course, Department and College level.

They are usually the first point of contact for most students in regards to issues, concerns, questions and successes regarding the course they are studying.

The ultimate aim is to ensure the continual improvement of the student learning experience which is achieved through effective communication between students, the University and the Students' Union.

Course Reps are student volunteers, elected for a year to represent the views of their cohort at course-level, in meetings with academic and administrative staff, as well as senior staff.

Nominations for 2018-2019 academic year are open until12th October 2018.
