Working with Young People

The working with young people session explores ups and downs involved in working with young people aged from 11-19. We discuss the different graduate career roles, expected pay and training routes into each profession. It is delivered by an experienced teacher who has worked with young people of all ages.

Type of session: a mixture of lecture style and discussion based activities.

The objectives of the session are:

  • To explore the different careers that are available working with young people (aged 11-19).
  • To know the important factors involved in working with this age group.
  • To explore how to engage young people.

Things to think about before the session:

  1. Why are you interested in working with young people?
  2. What challenges are associated with working with young people?
