Distance Learner Officer
This is my third year at Leicester University and being a Distance Learner, Being a Distance Learner myself I understand and appreciate that because of the nature of part-time and distance-learning study you will be facing different challenges to those students studying full-time.
As you might be trying to study whilst you work, manage family commitments, and/or juggle other interests. I also appreciate that getting to know and/or meet other students is not always as easy, particularly for those students whose mode of study may not bring you to Leicester very often (or not at all, in the case of some distance-learning students).
A few of my priorities this year includes: improving tutor response time to emails, and to get the HEAR accreditation for all students and to try make Distance Learner students more incorporated into all aspects of campus life and being part of the students union and showing what the union has to offer even Distance Learners to make Distance Learning a less solitary experience as it can be for some.
If there are any changes you’d like to make drop an email or contact me on my page: whatever barriers you face this year I’m here to help, I am sometimes on campus and as I live in Leicester meeting up in person is possible. So if you need information or just a listening ear please contact me.
