I'M TOO ILL TO ATTEND AN EXAM?

If you miss an exam because of illness you must LET YOUR DEPARTMENT KNOW straight away

CONTACT YOUR GP to make an appointment as you will need to provide medical evidence

If you feel unwell during an exam NOTIFY AN INVIGILATOR who will record your illness

I’M LATE FOR AN EXAM?

You MAY be allowed in to the exam room UP TO HALF AN HOUR after it starts

But you WON’T GET ANY EXTRA TIME to complete your paper.

Set your alarm!

MY MIND GOES BLANK?

Don’t panic. TAKE A DEEP BREATH and try to relax

Try to remember pictures or music while you were revising to jog your memory

If you’re really stuck, move on to ANOTHER QUESTION

THERE'S A FIRE ALARM?

Follow THE INVIGILATOR’S INSTRUCTIONS

Leave your exam paper on the desk and head to the NEAREST FIRE EXIT

DON’T COMMUNICATE with other students. Exam conditions will still apply

I'M MOVING HOUSE ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM?

You will be expected to sit your exam ON THE DAY IT’S SCHEDULED

The only exceptions are if you (or a close family member) are seriously ill or if you are the victim of serious crime

Plan holidays, house moves, parties and so on AFTER EXAMS have finished

I HAVE TO GO TO A FUNERAL?

If a member of your IMMEDIATE FAMILY dies, tell your department straightaway

GET A COPY of the death certificate. You will need to provide evidence of the date and your relationship to the person who’s died
