Liberation

This workshop is an introduction to student liberation and aims to support delegates in their understanding of education barriers. During the session, we will identify groups of students who face barriers to their participation or representation within education, and discuss ways in which student leaders can work to tackle inequality in education. This workshop is taught by students.

Type of Session: discussion based workshop.

The objectives of the session are:

  • Recognise that privilege can take many forms, and affect all areas of life.
  • Identify education barriers that may exist for students.
  • Identify and commit to actions that can be taken to break down education barriers.

Things to think about before the session:

  1. What privileges do you have?
  2. What advantages do those privileges bring to your everyday life?
